Never see the 961 talked about here. Just wondering if not that maney made what kind of luck other people had with the 961. The one dad had not a good tractor at all, in about 5 fears it was beon repair.

I have a 961, and I have no fears of it at all. It was burned when I got it and it beon repair for a while, but looks and works good now. I can`t imagine anyone being so incompetent that they couldn`t repair a tractor that is so simple to work on, or so negligent that they let it go without maintenance so long that it would cost more to repair it than it was worth.

Nothing left to repair the bolts were pulling out of the castings could not put on the wheel weights cause threads were all gone could not use 3 pt cause screws wre pulled out of rear end casting that held the swing chains never could hold head casket. it had good power but could not hold it together.

Have a 901 selectospeed. This is a wonderfull tractor (having owned numerous worthless, gutless, tractionless 8N's previous). This ain't no 961 but isn't far off. Have no desire to part with this tractor. Serves good duty on small farms when used with spreader, haybine, rake, baler, plow, backblade. etc. Selectospeed allows shift on the fly when working although is a bit jerky.
