We use a Ford 5600 to pull our Vermeer big round bailer. It does the job does fine.

Horsepower for the 7600: Drawbar: 65.3 - PTO: 84.79

These ford tractors are easy to use. I started driving them when I was 12. Good luck!

The 7600 is a straight forward tractor. Very similar to the 5610 other than the 7600 is turbo diesel. Same basic tractor and functions (some minor variations such as gears and pistons made of different materials). Other than the obvious (oil and water in the engine and transmission being where they are supposed to be).

I'd say start it, run it to running temp. Look for obvious leaks such as head gaskets (I have had more problems with these on 76's than on 56's). After getting to run temp idel the engine and make sure the pto is not slowly rotating with it shut off. If it has dual power try it in a high gear with warm oil to make sure it doesnt slip.

When you get it home have an oil analysis done (any thing with (manifold thermostart) to make sure that unit isnt leaking. Be sure to change the oil in the injector pump cam box.
