I am looking at a 1973 Ford 3055 for purchase. This is the first tractor with thus designation I have ever seen. I know of no one who has had any dealings with this sort of tractor. I have been told that the tractor is from overseas. I like the size and configuration of the tractor. Any one who may have input as to whether or not to purchase said tractor, I'd like to here it. Also, any one who has had one of these tractors I would like to hear your experiences. Thak you for you help.

I have one of these. I was told it was made for the French, but I cannot prove it. They were originally setup to mow highway easments. $5800 sounds like a little much, unless the sheetmetal is in great shape. Check the price on a 3000, I feel they should be about the same and most of the parts will interchange. You will not be disappointed with the power this thing has.

I have a Ford 3055, with power steering. I am about to sell it through the local paper. It is in reconditioned shape and looks and runs good. If you want a picture, let me know and I will send you one.

it probably is an industrial variant.. they often had heavy duty front ends and sometimes special transmission options as oposed to a "utility or general purpose" tractor. for made the 3400, 3500 and 345 and 355 tractors that matched this.. but the 3055 is new to me.. what does this tractor have??

good luck.. bill

I was told that this tractor has 47 HP at the pto.It has 6 lug rear wheels, 30". 19" front wheels. I was told it basically had a 4000 backend and a 3000 frontend. The headlights are in the grille. Possibly made in Europe. Should I buy this tractor for $5600? It is in a recondition shop at this time.
