I do believe I have found (discovered)the perfect paint colors for the "red and grey" Fords, 8n-80l.I have used Rustoleum enamels from Home Depot on a couple other tractors and like its protection and wearability. So, I have come up with the following recipe which I am using on my 801 and so far I am tickled good:First, prime red finish with grey primer. Prime grey finish with brown rusty primer. Contrast in primer and finish colors make it easier to do uniform paint and not miss spots. For red, mix two quarts of Sunrise Red Gloss and four ounces of plain yellow. HD will mix it for you in most cases. Makes a beautiful vermillion. For grey, mix one quart Almond Gloss, one quart Smoke Grey Gloss and l/2 pint white gloss. Makes a perfect light, slightly tanned grey! Use hardner if you feel like it, available from TSC or your local automotive paint store. Follow label instructions. Weather is so bad I can't spray yet. (have to do it outside) but am using brush for first coat. I will then sand and spray final coat(s). Will post a picture when I get it done.
