I need to know what engine these casting numbers are on,the year, and model if possible. CONN6015J . I want to buy it to put in my 851 if it's correct. It came out of a Balmar D-60? Whatever that is.

Thanks; Barney

Hi Barney , That casting number is good for 1960 - 1965 Tractors , but the date of that particular block is on the left front corner just above the oil pan rail , if you post that number I CAN TELL YOU WHAT YEAR THAT BLOCK IS . THANKS TONY JACOBS

Hi Rod , Thanks for the kind words , I just try to help out the best I can , I guess the knowledge comes from so many years experience with them . Your block is July 10, 1962 , Casting number should be CONN-6015-J . Thanks Tony Jacobs

hi Barney,
David Tiefenbrunn has a Balmar loader/backhoe which is a skid steer machine utilizing a Ford drivetrain. David has been in a running battle for several months with the Select-O-Speed transmission in his Balmar. The 801 series came out 1958 and the S-O-S became available on the 801 Series in 1959, which would indicate there's a good probability the engine is a match for your tractor. By coincedence, David posted "SOS Technical Question" about three posts below yours. You might reply to his post with your question. I'm sure he'll be willing to check his engine casting numbers. David's website is at the link below. Not much help I'm afraid, but maybe better than nothing.
regards,George
