Hello EJ, I also have a Ford 5000 Diesel. After changing the fuel filtersa few weeks ago, I had problems with my 5000 starting and running rough and then dying after a few minites. After several attempts at bleeding all the air at the injectors, I backed up to the fuel filters. I removed the bleed screws on top of the filters. I then used the manual pump lever, on the fuel delivery pump,to pump the fuel filters full. This was done to remove any air from the system. (If you can manually pump fuel into the filters, the pump is most likely O.K.) I then replaced the bleed screws in the fuel filters and preceded to bleed the injectors again. After starting the engine, I again bled each injector to remove any possible air from the system. This procedure cured the air problem with my system. I hope that this will be of some use to you. Good Luck,
Charlie Smith
