The dealer added optional live pto as mentioned below is hard to find because they tended to have problems and there are no replacement parts available. Here are some pics I took of the pump and pto lever on a junkyard NAA equipped with the live option.

This shows the add-on pump mentioned below. It's the silver colored thing and has a proofmeter drive on the end.

This shows one view of the live pto selector handle. You can also see a thin hydraulic line that runs from the cover, up over the trans to the aux pump pictured above. It's about the size of automotive brake line.

Just another view (from the top) of the handle.

NO! If it is a true Jubilee is doesn't have live PTO. Has to have the five speed transmission to have live PTO I think. Some of the later 600 series had this but not the Jubilee.

Yes... There was a option from Dearborn that allowed the Jubilee to have Live PTO

The option was a hydraulic clutch pack which went between the trans and diff to disengage the drive line without stopping the PTO. It had it's own small pump mounted between the real pump and the tachometer drive. Actuated by a longer handle in the left side PTO lever cover.

That's correct, Rick. I have an original 53 Jubilee (4 speed) with the Dearborn live pto option, and it is just as you describe. With this feature, you can be mowing along and move the lever back effectively disengaging the trans from the driveshaft but contininuing to transfer power to the pto. Slide the lever forward and off you go again. Pretty neat.

I stand corrected, been around red belly fords for forty years now never seen one with the "lever" you are talking about to get "live" PTO out of a 4-speed. Guess them newfangled gadgets haven't made it to the Missouri hills here. Only tractors in these parts with a lever to stop the tractors travel while the PTO is running is what I believe they call an Allis Chalmers.
