I bought a NAA, hadn't run for 10 years. I made sure it wasn't stuck first. I pulled the plugs to see if there was any compression and there is none on any cylinder. The dist rotor turns, so evidently the camshaft is ok. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do next? I paid less than $1000, depending on what value there is on the mower and tedder I got with it, $1500 in all. TIA

The NAA is a valve-in-head engine, and you may have valves that have dried up and are not moving. Suggest pulling the valve cover, cranking the engine, and seeing if the valves and push rods are moving. If not, soak with penetrating oil for several days and gently tap with a hammer on top of the valve. Hopefully you won't have to immediately pull the head. Good luck.

first change the oil & filter. then remove to plugs and squirt some oil in each cyl. crank the engine with out any plugs put some more oil in cyl. let it set for a day then crank it oner with out the plugs . put the plugs back in reconnect plug wires . crank it over and see if it will start. don't forget to put some gas in the tank. would be best if you drain all the old gas out then put in fresh. also drain the carb.
