I recently purchased a 3000. Can I install 2 way hydraulics for use with equipment cylinder? If so, roughly what kind of cost is involved and what do I need to get. I have no idea where to start any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You can also get a remote cylinder adaptor that bolts in the same place and has the control valve and handle built in. Then run lines to rear of tractor and add quick connects. They come in one and two cylinder models. This is much more expensive but cleaner if you want to run hydraulics. Last I knew the single cylinder adapter was over $300.

There is another consideration here. I bought my Fords to be versatile utility vehicles. I hop on and off a lot doing what I do. Having "stuff" in the way of my feet and legs in that process is very annoying. That is why I did what I did. That control valve handle will be right there in front of you; besides the cost.

You still have to buy the hookup hoses and quick disconnects which are about $100 so you are at $400 on an otherwise $250 job. Your money, your choice.

I had a mint MF 35 Deluxe with only 900 hrs on it (everything orig) couple of yrs ago and sold it for the very reason it was a pain in the rumpus getting on and off. It had dual remotes (2 levers in your crotch) and a padded seat with high arm rests and the fenders were right there....real confining.

my 2c.

The control levers on both my Fords come out beside the seat and are not in the way at all. Both look similar to the picture Jerry posted. Like you said its your money.

TxBlu,
The one I have is the two spool and it fits nicely under the seat and is not in the way at all on my 2000. It is a Tisco that I picked up used. Whole set up was around the $250 mark for the 2 spool.

Very nice. Not like the ones I saw where the levers were right in your face (crotch).

Thanks for the input.

I have more detailed posts on this site which are archived under something???

Sit in the seat. Look between your legs. There is a plate on top of the hyd section cover about 3x5. NH dealer will sell you an adapter plate for about $65 which mounts under this plate.

It has a suck and blow port (1/2 NPT). Plumb to an OPEN CENTER...OPEN CENTER...2 way single valve ( I use a CROSS brand from Trac. Supply ). Plumb the in/out of the new plate to the in/out of the remote valve. Plumb the outputs of the valve via 1/2 pipe fittings to your load (implement or log splitter or whatever).

You're there. Mount your control valve in a convenient place. I moved my tires and fenders out and mounted with an adapter bracket just to the left of the seat. That way it doesn't interfere with getting in and out of the seat.

The Ford hyd pump is only 5 gpm so this is no speed boat and the 3 pt lift has to be down from max (1/2 way down is a nice place) for the system to be able to develop hyd press to run the remote.

Have fun.

About $ 65 at NH dealer and $ 180-$200 at TSC.

Best,

txblu
