A friend of mine is selling a Ford 3000 but is unsure of the year. He thought it was in the mid 70's. The unit number is 8J13B. The Oaktree website does not show that 78 was a production year. Would it be a '68? Were they made in '78? If it is a '68 does anybody know what it would be worth? It shows 1400 hours and has some rust and the seat is in bad shape but other that that it is in decent shape and he takes care of his equipment. Thanks for your help.

I think it depends upon where you live. The prices stated below sound low for my area, central PA. Here you won't get a decent working 3000 for less than $5,000. I keep checking the Lancaster Farming ads each week and the prices on these utility tractors seems to be rising.

I live in Lewisberry, York county. It's near Pinchot State Park. Here's a link to Lancaster Farming, the newspaper I referred to in my other post. They publish a weekly newspaper that is as addicting as YT.

Anthony; I think Mike is about right. I paid $4500 for a 1967, gas, eight speed, 2000 hrs on meter, had set out, needed some TLC, but turned out very well, looks like new now, just a lot of elbow greese done on it., my time not worth much any more.(this was year and half ago..... )

Anthony,

The tractor was built September 13, 1968 on the afternoon shift. It is worth from $2,000 to $7,000 depending on optional equipment, condition and accessories being offered. Most restored versions go around $4500-$6000. Most reconditioned versions around $4000-$5000. Most as-is versions, $2500-$4500. The one you have sounds like it should bring in $3500-$4000
