Stabilizer bar question: 860

I would like to install 2 stabilizer bars on 3 point to negate any swaying of bushhog. First, is the proper length for these 31 9/16" from center to center on the holes and secondly, where on the tractor exactly would you hook the one end of the bar? From what I can see in my manual it shows one end hooking to the implement where the link sockets on the lift links are, but it doesn't show where the other end hooks to on the tractor. Thanks for any info. Brad

I prefer the shorter 'inner' stablizers that got from the swinging drawbar mount under the diff of the tractor to the inside of the 3pt arms. That's on my 960's, I'll _assume_ the same is possible on an 800.....

The best thing you can do is to order a complete stabilizer kit from one of the sponsors of this site or some other place.

The forward end is attached to a bracket that is held under the axle housing by the same bolts that retain the fenders. That is if they are long enough.

The front brackets will have four holes in each and you must install the small attaching pins so that they are directly across from the pins that hold the forward ends of the lift arms. The brackets must have the verticle side toward the inside of the tractor.

Thank you for your info. I recently have come to the conclusion that my vickers vane pump is whipped. I think I read some months back that you have an alternate 'system'(cheaper) to operate the hydraulic system w/o switching to a piston pump. If this is true, I would really appreciate some info. on it, else you can ignore this post. If you prefer to deal w/ this via email, I've included mine or you can post on the board if you don't mind. Thanks in advance. Brad

PS I've got a '55 860.
