my 800 is idling fine. but when i give it more gas and higher rpm, it will run ok and then shutdown after two minutes or more. i think its a fuel supply problem but the fuel line gushes gas so there is not any blockage. when i take the bottom drain plug out of the carb it drains through, but not as fast as the fuel coming out of the disconnected fuel line. i rebuilt my carb last fall and worked the tracotr without problems. i took compressed air and blew out the carb yesterday but today it is doing what i describe. can someoene help me think whats wrong with it and what i need to do to fix it?

I had an NAA do the same thing to me. While there are many, many causes for this, here is what caused my problem: My coil ignition wire was bad, even though it looked brand new. Seemed to act up when the tractor got hot, or any other time it felt like acting up. Idle was fine. New wire: No Problem. Other igition things: check the little copper strip in the distributor, from the input terminal to the points. Also check the little paper insulator and plastic bushing in the same area of the distributor. My experience is that 90% of rough running is ignition related. Good Luck.

One quick check, does it continue to run or at least try for a while if you pull the choke? That will not be affected by the coil, but will tell you if there is a fuel flow issue

I had a problem like yours. After much checking & replacing parts, I found the culprit to be the condenser in the distributor.

Hi bob, It sounds like you've eliminated poor fuel delivery as a potential cause of your problem. And assuming good fuel delivery, it wouldn't be able to run ok for two minutes before developing the problem if it was carburetor related. As ken said, look for an electrical problem. It could be the coil, but before spending the money for a replacement check to be sure you don't have any bad wiring connections, or an intermittent/failing ignition switch. Good luck...Al English

Someone once said on this board, "Most carburator problems are electrical in nature". Sounds like a coil to me.
