My apologies - I'm sure this problem has been discussed here before, but I can't find it...
The Implement Position Control on my 1967 Ford 3000 has started misbehaving. When I set it to an intermediate position, it will drop down to a lower position of its own accord, unless I use the Adjustable Stop to hold it in place - this didn't happen before the clutch was replaced (see Link Is there some way I can tighten things up to fix this ?

Do I understand correctly that the lift control lever itself is dropping down? If so, it sounds like the friction disc at the lever hub needs tightened or replaced. Replacing the clutch would have absolutely nothing to do with this problem. Mere coincedence. Just my two cents...

Yes, the lever is dropping down - I agree that the clutch replacement is probably coincidence, but I thought I'd better mention it just in case...
How do I adjust the friction disc ?

At the hub of the control lever you should see the nut that retains the hub on the shaft. Between the nut and the hub is a small spring (wound from a flat wire instead of the round wire we usually think of with a spring...) The hub is supposed to be something of a slip-fit on the shaft, and tightening the nut against the spring is supposed to push the hub against a friction disc, increasing the effort required to move the lever.

Unfortunately, in many cases the hub is frozen in place on the shaft. In this case it may take a bit of tapping, liberal use of a good penetrating oil, or (sometimes) application of heat to free it up. I have seen occasions that the only choice is to cut off the old hub and replace it, using a liberal dose of anti-seize compound.

Try to tighten the nut and see if the lever tightens up. You may get lucky right off the bat, but if not, bear in mind that the hub is made from a pot-metal type material and is easily broken. Good Luck!

<15 minutes later>
The nut was a bit loose so I've tweaked it up - problem solved :-)
Thanks - I wish everything in life was that simple...
