Hello I have a 71 3000 with bad brake performance.
With the backhoe on it is very difficoult to stop / hold the tractor in almost any hill.
I have adjusted the brakes properly and there is no sound from the brakes. If the linings vere gone, would`t that make sounds? Would it help to have the drums turned?
Thanks from norway

Watch out for oil from the rear end getting on the linings. The axle oil seals leak, and wet the brakes. After awhile no matter how hard you push the brake peddle the tractor will not stop.

Model 3500 industrial tractors used a wider shoe on the same drum. If you use them, be sure to turn the drums.

i redid my 4000 row crop braked they were bare as could be wore into the drum and never mad a sound but man when you get new one on and adjusted w/o power you can literally freeze the tire in its tracks
