It's a short extension that goes on the pto shaft, and you couple your rotory mower pto onto it. The ORC has a one-way ratchet action to it, like a socket set wrench.

Without live pto, your rear wheels & the pto shaft are locked together any time the pto lever is in gear, so as the big heavy rotory mower spins down, it will continue to push your tractor forward, even with the clutch & brakes pushed down hard, and your eyes real big as that tree/ building'/ fence/ cliff get ever closer.....

The ORC will let the mower spin down without pushing the tractor.

This is an over running coupler. It is used on the pto being that yours is not a live pto. IT will stop the momentum of the bush hog when disengaged, if not sometimes with the non live pto you can be pushed forward by the bush hog. Can pick one up at a TSC or dealer. Hope this helps.
