Low Oil Pressure on Ford 641?

I own a Ford 641 for twelve years and rebuilt the motor 400 hours ago. Before engine rebuild oil pressure was about 25psi .Initial oil pressure when first rebuilt was about 45psi. About a year ago it very slowly started dropping over a period of time until it again reached about 25psi where it has been stablized for the past six months. Now when the engine is first started the gauge goes immediately to 25psi, winter or summer, which is where it stays even when engine is hot and under pressure for extended periods such as using a bushog to mow a 10 acre pasture.Hot idle is about 12-15psi.Engine temperature is well within the safe zone and has never been a problem. I have no engine knock, blow no oil and it doesn't use oil.Engine runs very smooth.Sounds great and I have plenty of power.I replaced the oil pump and it gets regular oil/filter changes but still pulls 25psi.

Have I got a problem here or is everything within the norm? Is 25psi safe and acceptable on a 641? What the heck is acceptable engine oil pressure on a Ford 641 anyway?

Any help, information and guidance will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Al. I would try another oil pressure gage, they sometimes go bad. What kind of oil filter are you using? What brand and weight of oil are you using? These also can effect the pressure. /////CRS////
