I bought a used 1710 ford and started having o-ring problems in the plumbing between the power steering priority valve and the hydraulic pump. I found out that ford re-designed the plumbing so I
went with the new design.I'm still
having o-ring problem. I think the problem is because the plumbing system is ridged and is not allowed to flex. Since the valve is mounted to the frame and the pump is mounted
to the engine, any movement of these
creates pressure on the rings. Has anyone ever re-mounted the valve in a different location and used a hydraulic hose which would not transfer any movement to the o-rings Thank You

Installed kit BSA340060180 (priority valve hose kit) over the weekend and it went well.Having to re-bend one of the steel lines was the worst part
but even that wasn't to bad.If you have any questions, mail me.
Again thank.

Ron I tried to put on the same kit today. So far nothing went as per the directions! The 90 deg. elbows went on facing the opposite of the directions, all fittings had to be put together then placed on the tractor. Now the bottom bolt on the priority valve will not line up. I am thinking about grinding ut the slots on the bracket that the valve bolts to-- this way I might be able to push the entire bracket back. If you have ideas ...Please let me know!

Attention Rick B
I ordered part sba340060180 today.
I should get it by late wed.
$90.10 + tax. If you hadn"t furnished
me with the part number I would have had trouble. My local NH dealer didn"t have the part number in their system. I want to thank you for all
your help. If it wasn"t for you I would be changing O-rings the rest of my life Again "Thank You

If the bolts holding the frame to the engine are loose, nothing short of a hose kit like Rick mentioned will stop the leak. Try tightening the bolts first before you spend $100 on a hose kit. You might be surprised at this cheap fix.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Ford addressed this problem years ago with a hose kit. SBA340060180 is the part number for a kit to slightly relocate the priority valve and connect it to the pump with a hose. Directions included for under $100 US list from any New Holland dealer.

Rick I ordered the hose kit from the dealer Monday-Aug.2. I should have the kit this Friday. The dealer had NO knowledge of this part! Thanks for the information. Will let you know how it works out.
