PTO hp on a 1973 ford 4000 w/201 diesel is 52. some of the earlier and later models may have more or less, but should be in the ballpark of 50. don't know about the drawbar hp. like someone else said, find out about the nebraska test results.

Earlier models used the 172 engine which put out about 42. Drawbar is slightly less due to gear losses. Check Nebr. and pay attention to year model.

The gas Select-o-speed showed 46 hp at 2200 rpm. This was test 701 at Nebraska. The Draw Bar hp was 37.02 at a reduced 2000 rpm. Ford back then only used the higher 2200 rpm for BELT WORK ONLY. If you have the 5 speed then your drawbar hp will be a couple more than the Select-o as the 5 speed is a more efficient transfer of power. The later 3 cylinder Fords first came out with about 46 hp also but showed 41 db hp as they did not drop the rpm for db work. Later still they increased the power to 52 pto and 44.81 db. These numbers came from my Nebraska Tractor Book.

Was there 52hp in the 4000 series before the 4600?
