There are lots of posts about coils and other ignition problems on the N-board. Check the archives. There are two things you might want to check that have been giving me fits lately:

1. The "pig-tail" on my coil is a little short and sometimes I'll hit a bump and it will move just enough to lose contact with the distributor.

2. Today I plowed two garden plots and it just stopped. It ended up that the points had slipped and no longer had the required .015 point gap. In checking the archives, I discovered that there are supposed to be lock washers on the screws that hold the points in place. Mine are missing.

If you really are burning up coils, check to see if the resistor (mounted on the back of the dash) needs replaced. Also, if you have a 12 volt conversion with a 6 volt coil, you have to add a second resistor.

Lastly, many people have claimed that they had bad coils right out of the box, but three seems like too many.
