I just bought a nice 641 Workmaster but I never see these advertised anywhere for anything. Is this the same as the 600 and if I need parts or sheet metal where do I go and what do I look for. Can anyone estimate the horsepower? Thanks in advance for your help.

Billyboy will you do me a favor? Look at the hood on your 641 and see if there is a raised "Ford" script above and slightly behind the headlights. See the discussion regarding 741 sheetmetal next to your 641 discussion for background information.

No it is not a 600.... It is a 601
The 600"s were built in the mid 50"s
The 601 was built in the late 50"s to early 60"s
A 641 gas is 33.6 HP
Lot of parts still available at ford/NH and after market.
Some metal parts from aftermarket
Go to this site a poke around to find out info on your tractor.

John,

Would you elaborate on your second line: 600 built in the "50"s?

Thanks,

Mark

Do not really under stand your question but.....
Yes I will try.
The Ford model 600 tractors were built from 1954 to 1957 or mid 50s.

Well I read your previous comment and it confused me. I thought the 8n replaced the 2n and ceased production in"55 when the hundred series came out till "60 and then the thousand series came out. So that didn"t leave room for the specific 600 that you mentioned.

No big deal, just wondering since I had never heard that before.

Best,

Mark

Mark;
You are letting those years catch up with you.
Just because you were around when they were building 8Ns does not mean you can say they were built in the 50s to make you sound younger. HE HE HE.....
Well enough with the joking around.
The 2n replaced the 9n in 1942
that was replaced by the 8n in 1947
that was replaced with the NAA in 1952
that was replaced by the 600 in 1954
that was replaced with the 601 in 1957
that was replaced by the 2000 in 1962
then they revamped every thing and went to the square hood 2000 in 1965 which was built till 1975 when they changed it to the 2600.... and so on.

Part of my comment was based on the new service manual I just received that (recalling) was titled ""55 to "60 hundred series Fords". Just trying to keep things in perspective. Why? Dunno.
