I looked at what I thought was a ford jubilee today. Where is the serial plate on this tractor? Also was the jubilee 3 foward and 1 reverse? The one I looked at was. The tractor needed paint but ran with no smoke and lift worked excellent. All gages worked except Tach. but fellow said engine was rebuilt 3 years ago and hasnt been used much. Steering was very tight. All I can say that the tractor needed was a muffler. The guy had bushhog, boompole, scafier,2bootomplow,angle scrape blade, and cultivater that came with the Tractor. The fellow wants $3,000.00 for everything. Is this a good buy? I have several but dont have a ford and dont really need it but if its a good buy I would probally jump on it. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

The model and serial numbers are hand stamped on the flat area of the transmission on the left side just above the starter. A 3 speed can't be a Jubilee.
It could be a later 650 / 651 /660 / 771, 850 / 851 / 860 / 861 with a 5 speed transmission and with the unusual up and down shift pattern you are not feeling the two gears at the center point.
Can you post a picture of the tractor?

If the tractor you looked at had three forward gears and reverse, it wasn't no Jubilee. They have four forward and a reverse. The 9N and 2N's had a three speed trans, but they are older.
Now, you say it has a tach, and the older Fords didn't have a tach until 1950. Makes me think you are looking at a Ferguson.

The link below might be a help on the ID part of your question.

As for its value, a few thoughts: The lack of a new paint job might be a plus. You get to see what would otherwise be covered up by new paint! I"m sure no expert, but for what you"re describing (runs good, hydraulics are good, several attachments included), $3000 sounds like a pretty good price.
