Search on "640 studs" . I posted some photos (with the help from John in LA). You can drill the backing plate at 12:00 with a hole saw. I then plugged the hole with a rubber stopper. Not something you would do to a show tractor but saves a lot of work on a work tractor. Good luck. Larry-NEK

Here is a link to the list of post with pictures.
Yes it can be done-640 studs

Just like you said it would be Larry. Very easy and sure saves a lot of work replacing studs on a work tractor.
When I did the ones on my 861 I did it at the 6 o'clock position.
It was a little harder because you had to get on the ground under tractor to drill the hole but now you can not see the plunger to cover hole as well. It is under axle.
Good luck
John

Look for the SEARCH FOR box above. Type in REPLACING REAR WHEEL STUDS and hit the GO button. Many others have succesfully posted the process in the past so you just have find then and read their answers.

If you have leaking axle seals, now might be the right time to fix those too. That is much more involved but you will have direct access to all the wheel studs at that time.

Good luck, and report back to us when you are completed with the project.
