My 3000 dsl 3pt seemed to work fine for usage on implements (shredder, disc, etc). However, I tried moving a large round bale yesterday....the lift just was not strong enough. My neighbor has a similar 3000 and his will lift fine. I checked fluid level - Ok. Changed draft and position control - no change. Raced engine no help. I wnet back a little later and this time it struggled but did pick up the bale. Any idea on what to do next.

Thanks

There is a filter on your lift system, that gets stopped up. Just as engine oil, the hydraulic oil and filter have to be changed occasionally to for best performance and for less wear and tear on the pump. If it has never been changed, might need to clean it out to remove sludge. This is not a hard process, and many times adds years of service to a tractor. As sludge gets in the pump and lines, you have less power on your three point.

check pump pressure... your hydralic pump is worn out.. and not producing enough pressure.. or...

you have a leaking cyl. but would notice the load hicupping or dropping...

a good new)pump will put out 2500 lbs at an idle... a worn pump will do about 900 at an idle and 1800 rev all the way up... there are serveral taps on the tractor for checking the pressure...
