Looking to sell father inlaw"s tractors as they are too old to farm and they lease out the land. One tractor is a 1978 Ford 3600, 3,373 hours with front end loader. Tractor runs good but could use a good paint job. Also a 1974 Ford 5000, 36773 hours, dual rear wheels. Small head gasket leak and could use a paint job. Any idea what they might be worth? I don"t know much about tractors or farming so any help would be appreciated. We"re located in southwestern Ontario.

BA..... ...you might contact an auctioneer in your area and find out when he with be having an auction with good pieces to sell. He will advertize the sale heavily and get buyers that will know (bid against each other) what your tractors are worth.

I would also say that the 5-9 range would probably fit fairly well for both. They're in the homeowner range, so they tend to fetch a good dollar. I've seen 3600's go for near 11 with loaders.... Also, if it were mine, I would seriously think about fixing the head gasket on the 5000. That's only a few hours work for somebody experienced with them, and a 50 dollar gasket. Could turn a $5000 "project" tractor into a $9000 working tractor. Just something to consider...
