I have a " 65 ford 4000 hd industrial backhoe. I found a good used hydraulic pump a little over a year ago. Since I put it on the machine, I have put about 100 hours on it. I fixed the small leaks as they appeared, replacing some hoses, etc. Recently, the last 30 hours or so, the leaks have gotten much worse. Particulary on the control tower, looks to be from around the spools and also on the bottom of the spools, the piece that is shaped like a cup. Also the crowd cylinder seems to be leaking also, which it never really did before, at least not to the degree it is now. I think I did a foolish thing a few weeks ago. I have some retaining walls & patios going in, the installers asked me if I can move a pallet or 2 of stone closer to the work site, rather than them wheel barrowing a few stone at a time. So I did, I put a chain around the bottom of the pallet, hooked it up to the back bucket, and drove it down to where they needed it. Since then I think I have sprung a few more leaks. I guess I have blown some seals. I assume that is possible ? What damage may have I done to the control tower valve body ? repairs ?

Thanks
Anthony

Are the orings in the valve body or on the cylinder themselves, or both ?
If I need to change orinmgs on the spools, do yo do that from the top, bottom, or both ?

Thank You for your help.
