Just a useless tidbit of info that someone might find useful some day. The steering valve out of a John Deere 2010 tractor or a 105 combine is the exact same one that is used on the Ford 4000 HD industrials with the single cylinder power steering system.

We hunted all over the US for one out of a 4000, finding only one that turned out to be in worse shape than what we had. We where at the point of "Now what the he11 do we do???" when a 2010 came into the shop to be worked on and we noticed that the steering valve looked pretty similar. We started comparing and I"ll be gosh darned, it fit. And the good news is, most 2010"s never ran long enough to wear out the steering valve so most of the ones in salvage yards should be in good shape. Now our Ford is running again, thanks to a stroke of pure dumb luck.

I like to give the Ford guys a hard time by telling them that we finally made a ford half way decent by adding some John Deere parts ; )

Alan,

Is that the steering valve for a '63 and '64 Ford 4000 without the cable steering? If so, "You Da Man!"
