Hello,
I have a 65 ford 4000 HD Industrial backoe. The U-Bolts that hold the rear axle to the frame, looks like they could probably need to be changed. The nuts are corroded down. Where can I find replacements. I went to the dealer, he saw the u-bolt part on his computer screen lookup, but it was greyed out, like their it is no longer available. Anyone know where I can find them I would apprecaite it.
Thanks
Happy Holidays.
Anthony

Check your local ACE hardware. They, surprisingly have a good selection.

Another option that we often do for larger U-bolts is to go to your local spring shop. (Particularly if you have one that does heavy trucks.) They often will make them to your liking/sketches, etc. We've had several made for installing headache racks and the like on highway trucks.

In addition, if you don't have a local spring shop you can get U-bolts, including custom-made sizes by mail-order. I needed a set of odd-sized axle U-bolts for an equipment trailer and ordered them from Stengel Bros. in PA (link below). I was very pleased with the U-bolts and service.

Get a close look at the profile of the bolts, and measure them up.

www.mcmaster.com

has a wide selection of off-the-shelf sizes.

If you have a Deere dealer near you with a good partsman, they are able to access a database of parts and harware by dimensions. If you have trouble finding matching bolts, post back with your dimensions, and I'll take a look for you.
