I bought this tractor 2 years ago. It had been refurbished nicely. I would like to change oil and fluids. I have an 8N that I am restoring and use 20W50 motor oil and GL 1/90wt in the trans, etc. Would it be ok to use 20W50 in the 641 engine? What should I use in the three reservoirs for trans, diff. and hyds?

Thanks,

Brad Dale/MS Gulf Coast

I don't know if it would be necessary to use 20-50 in the engine. If you have a low oil pressure problem, then it wouldn't hurt. I use 10-30 in my 641 and have no problem with oil pressure. I use 20-50 in my 8N, tho, because it has low pressure when hot. In your area, it gets hot in the summer, and it kinda depends on how hard you work it, too. In the hyds, trans, and diffy, I use NH spec 134 oil.
