my 703 is jerky when lifting. I am hopefully assuming the fluid level is low. Where do I check the level?..am I chasing something and should be looking elsewhere foa a cause of the jerky lift?

Thanks
Bill

Filler on mine is on the right horizontal beam below and forward of the controls. If mine is low, as in blown hose, the front pump squeals.

Ray - squeal as in when lifting? Mine does that too. I have noticed the 3-4" tall pipe w/cap on the rail - full is at the bottom of the pipe or where?

Yes, fill to the bottom of pipe, in other words to top of frame-reservoir. New Holland 134 hydraulic oil or equivalent Universal Hydraulic Fluid is a good choice. My 703 gets jerky when the fluid reservoir is low (as you have described). It can also get jerky in very cold weather until the fluid warms up. The manual for my loader calls for "approximately six gallons of hydraulic fluid."
