I have a 1964 Ford 4000 industrial with a 172 4 cyl. gas engine. The original carb was a Marvel Schebler TSX. I have a Zenith B8nn-B, 13881 on it now. Does anyone know how this changes the way it will run and idle and perform under load. I have had problems with it idling. I am planning on overhauling the carb. Also, if anyone knows of any links where I can find information I would appreciate it.

i have a similar 4000 row. had trouble with it for 2 years till i got all the kinks worked out.

1) buy plenty of carb body gaskets, there cheap enough
2)check all throttle/gov/carb linkage for hangs or wiggles
3) sea foam the whole thing good, a whole can in 1 gal! of gas in the tank, to really sockit to it
4) disconnect gov and see how it feels
5) hows your timing
6)don't follow manual its best to tune and adjust by ear, use manual as a starting point!
email me if you want to through ideas around
