Need to know how to polorize 12 volt regulator for 4000 ford tractor thanks bill

1. Make sure you have a GENERATOR, not alternator which it should be if you really have the old rectangular regulator.

2. Take a piece of wire to use as a jumper. Use decent size, at least 18, 14 better.

3. Touch it to the Bat terminal on genny and strike other end on Arm terminal on genny. Don't hold it, just touch it. Should get a spark like you shorted something. That's it! Doesn't hurt to do it twice.

4. Can do same thing with bat and gen/arm terminal on regulator. You could go from the actual battery to the generator arm terminal. Whereever it's easiest to get to.

5. You're actually polarizing the genny. Prepping those electrons to run the right way.

6. Search here for polarizing or flash for other/better descriptions.
