I stay gone for a week gambling my money away in Biloxi, come home and a dang wren has built a nest under the gauges and amongst all those wires and had the gall to deposit 4 tiny eggs there. My grandkids were there so now they come by every day or so to make sure Poppa hasn't disturbed the nest. I guess the garden will be late this year.

A good barn cat would take care of that bird for you.

A couple of years ago my neighbor came to my door looking kind of sheepish. He explained that he had agreed to cut a guy's 1 acre of hay but couldn't because a robin had built a nest on top of his sickle mower blade. The mower was stored with the blade upright and that silly bird had built the nest right up on top. There were four little baby birds in there and he was sure they'd die if he moved them. So he needed me to cut the hay he had agreed to do. I did of course. He seemed embarassed that he was exposing himself as a "softie".

They like Farmalls too. I had my Super AV idling when I noticed smoke coming from the holes for muffler etc. and only had a stick to poke at the fire. Luckily I poked in the right place and knocked the nest out. Only had mild paint blister.
