What are the major differences bewtween the Ford 4400 and the 4600 tractor? WHich one would be best suited fro using a front-end loader?

4400 is older, has a heavier front axle due to its Industrial nature. May have different transmission than a 4600. 4600 is a little newer with a pretty stout front axle, but not as much so as the 4400. 4600's 8F/2R transmission poor for loader work as the reverse choices are too slow and too fast. 4400 will have a generator/regulator if still original, 4600 will have alternator. Later 4400 and any 4600 will be equal power-wise on paper.

the 4400 is a 4000 with an heavy frontend and other options...

a 4600 is the same as a 4000 but a newer model or series.. it generally has slightly better hydraulics and better power steering and a slightly different engine... a 445 is a heavy duty version of the 4600 tractor...
