I have a Ford 801 Select O Speed tractor. Has run great for the last 5 years, but I was mowing pretty hard in hot weather and stopped and shifted it into park on a hill for a few moments. I kept the engine running, then tried to start up again in 4th gear and it wouldn"t move. Was able to get it going again up the hill in 5th gear, but when I went to put it in reverse to park it I had no reverse. Now I have a slow transmission fluid leak. I have checked the dipstick and it is "full" but my neighbor has a 901 and he tells me the dipstick is only for the hydraulic system, not the transmission. How do I check the fluid level in the transmssion? How do I fill the transmission? The guy at the New Holland dealership in town says that I should use Ambra Multi G134, is that correct? Thanks so much for your help to anyone who will reply.

there is a level/fill plug in front of and below the right footrest. if oil flows out with the tractor level you have enough. park it with the right side high and add a little extra. it won't hurt it. NH 134 fluid or something that meets or exceeds that spec is proper. let us know if that fixes you up.
