I am looking at a 1969 ford 3000 diesel tractor to replace my 9n. I need a little more HP than the 9n has. I called about the 3000 and was told it has a 4spd tran but the seller doesn"t know if it has live PTO. I would like to have live PTO. Does anyone have any information on this model? HP/Live pto, ect?

Thanks

I am about to put our 69 Ford 3000 Diesel up for sale. Only 4400 hours and just keeps going and going. Live PTO, 3ph, trip bucket with manure forks. We used it mostly for pulling a wagon or moving rocks.

Price is $4500 Canadian. We are near Owen Sound Ontario.

Drive it home?!?!?
Good luck

I have a '69 3000 Dsl with a 4 speed transmission with no live PTO. I love it. This tractor is a work horse. The more you work it the better it feels. I had a 8N prior and although I love my 8N, this is a different class tractor. I personally think that the 1000 series tractor are some of the best, toughest tractors ever made.

The Ford 3000 diesel has 38-40 PTOhp. It should have live hydraulics and PTO.

The Ford 3000 was offered with 5 different transmission/PTO options. 1. Four speed transmission with transmission PTO.
2. Six speed transmission with transmission PTO.
3. Eight speed transmission with transmission PTO.
4. Eight speed transmission with live PTO via double clutch.
5. Ten speed selectospeed transmision with independent PTO.
The only transmission that was offered with two PTO styles was the 8 speed; most but not all 8 speeds had live PTO.

I have 2 ea 3000 Fords, '65 and '66. Both are 8 speed with Live PTO and PTO hp is about 39. I think Ford kicked the 4000 up and stuck the 3000 in it's place...My 4600 is 52 hp but a pre '65 4000 put out about 42 PTO hp.

The 3000 is probably the best all around tractor you can buy in that size range. Diesel is definitely preferred.....by me anyway.

I have both a gas and diesel 3000. I use the gas every day and just restored the diesel to sell. It has three point and live pto. Let me know if you are interrested.
