i have just restored a jubilee and will soon put it up for sale.. runs nice but at my age (74) it is hard to do all the physical work needed to restore....so i am looking for a tractor 25-30 hp, 4 wheel drive, 1992 to 2000 and that will require as little maintenance as possible... any ideas..... ...

Hey Bill, does that Jubliee have the sherman overdrive on it? Do you know what you would want for it? And pics would be nice to see one of those again.... Thanks for your time. Darin

There weren't as many choices in 1992-2000 as there are now. The last "small" Ford was the 3930, but only available in turbo diesel, I think. And pretty hard to find. The Farmtrac tractor is still sold by Long tractor, produced in India by a company that bought the Ford 3000 tooling. It maybe pretty hard to find a nice quiet running gas-engined tractor, unless you go back into the 70's, or do some re-engineering. There are some high-end Toro and Gravely tractors that might interest you. Might still have a percentage of "Made in USA".

Keep the Jubilee, if it is in good shape it should serve you well for years. The Grandkids will enjoy it more than a new one too.

Bill,

You really can't go wrong with a Kubota. B series is the mid-sized frame that ends at about 29 Hp and the L series is the larger sized frame that starts at about 30 Hp. You should look for one with the hydrostatic drive. Smooth.

John

I totally agree. I see Kobotas on all my jobsites used by the fellas that need em to run everyday. They hold there value better than anything out there right now too!

A lot depends on what you need to do with the tractor. How about describing what you're going to use a tractor for and then we can advise you about the size of tractor you'll need? Sound fair?

i had a farm at one time and miss working with a tractor. i only have 3 acres and would use it for bushhoging and just playing around. this is why i bought the jubilee and restored it. i just like working and being around a tractor. i know this may sound silly to some of you folks....but

Doesn't sound silly at all to me. You know for three acres, one of the small compacts would probably do you well. You probably need something like 20-25 HP. Maybe a small loader and/or a back blade and a 4 or 5 foot mower. New Holland makes a small tractor, I believe it called a TC29. Deere has a 4100 model. Massey-Ferguson has something in that line also. Don't know how much you want to spend but the dealers have low hour rental returns that yu could pick up pretty reasonably and lots of time they are under warranty.
