All,
Had a chance to plow for the first time in a long while. Well I hit a rock just below the surface and broke the main cast beam on the plow where the bottom links for the 3 pt attach. Is this cast beam avail? or should I make one out of steel.

The picts of the 101s I have seen have a round beam, mine is rectangular approx. 1"x2" cast and slides through the hitch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a pict of the same plow I found on the web. Scroll down to Plow #55.

Thanks,
Rick

Thats not a 101 plow, look at plow no 3 in you link for a 101. What you have is a Ford Economy plow (or Deerborn if pre-'52). In my oppinion they are the nicest plowing plow you can find. I think they do a better job then the 101's. The only problem with them, as you found out, is if you hit something, either the tractor stops or you break something. I may be wrong, but I thought that piece was steel originaly, maybe you have an earlier one that is cast, I don't know.

Jeff,
Thanks a ton for the info. You are right on. Mine is the Economy and it does plow really nice. Better than the Case trip lever I had to finish up with after busting the Ford.

Mine must be an early model because the cross shaft is cast. I did some surfing last night and found all the drawings and part numbers for it. I also found one nearby for sale as spare parts.

Thanks,
Rick
