I used to run my '67 3000 on the Ford-recommended tyre pressures for the field of 16 lbs front, 12 lbs rear. I've now got a '66 3000 which has a "Mill" Front-loader permanently attached - should I increase the tyre pressures to allow for the loader ?

I have an 801 with loader and gave up on the tractor tires for the fronts. I now use a radial truck tire for the fronts and run them with 50psi in them. They sit wider and don't sink in like the 3 rib tractor tires did. But it is a heavy loader and I lift a lot of very heavy stuff with it.

first off you probably should be running 28 lbs in the front of a regular tractor front tire.

with a loader.. you will need to run about 40 to 50 but make sure the tire will handle that pressure.. most front tractor tires will only handel 36 lbs safely so most folks add either truck tires or aircraft tires to the front for a loader tractor.... be sure to check for rim splitting and for wheel bearing wear when running front end loaders.... also the front pivot pin will wear serverly on 65 to 68 fords... the later tractors had a larger pin to correct this problem...

sotxbill - I'm surprised you recommend 28 lbs without a loader, my 3000 Operator's Manual is very clear that, on a field, it should be 16lbs front, 12 lbs back - are you referring to a tractor which works mainly on a tarmac or concrete surface ?
Also, I'm not clear what 'front pivot pin' you are referring to - do you mean the steering king-pins ?
N.B. we may have a UK/USA terminology or country-of-manufacture problem here...
