My old ignition switch showed continuity across all three posts of switch. So I figured my switch went out. I Replaced factory "lucas" switch with a generic replacement from tractor supply. The new switch is a 4 post, Acc/Off/Ign/Start, as opposed to the OEM with 3 blades. So, I did not use the acc post. I traced (best I could) the wires and connected the battery to battery, and what appears to be the white/yellow stripe from nuetral safety to starter post. The other two wires from the old switch (1-whiet and the other dark gray with pink stripe) to ign post on new switch.

When I connected to battery and turned key to on or ingition detent, voltage regulator was clattering, which it didn"t before. I momentarily tried to start, but I guess I didn"t have enough juice for the starter. Why the voltage regulator is clattering/clicking when you turn the key on is an issue.

1. Anyone have a wiring diagram for ignition switch? fax or email ????
2. Thoughts - ideas on the voltage regulator...

I checked by battery with OHm meter and it was showing 10.65 volts, which should at least turn the starter.

It all started when I noted the battery dead one morning, jumped started it and while running later on the engine died. Re-started it and drove it back to the barn. When I went to turn it off with the ignition switch, it continued to run, so that is where I figured it was the switch. Now after replacing the switch it appears I am back to square one. No START!
