Still working on my 841D. Went to take some of the red and gray off and found blue under it. What is the right color? I'm confusder than ever.

Sounds like yours may have been painted at least twice. The red ("Vermillion" in Dearborn Enamels) is the correct color for the drivetrain. The light grey (listed as "Medium Grey") is correct for the rest. I'll bet if you scrub past the blue, you'll find "red" again. It was, apparently, a common practice for Ford dealers to paint the *00/*01 series blue upon trade-in to make them look more modern.

Go to FNH and get their red (39/62) and Grey(39/62)
That is what I used on my 960 and it looks great.
My tractor picture is on tractor photos as 1956 Ford 960, may be five or six pages down now.
I don't know how to put it here.

While I am not Danny I think I can answer that question.

39/62 is not a part # but years built such as 1939 to 1962

While Ford had several Reds and Grays over the years the ones they have marked..... .
Ford Red 1939 to 1962 and Ford Gray 1939 to 1962
Really only are the right colors for the 1958 to 1962 X01's

Tractors built before 1958 such as the X00's and 8N's were Red and not the Orangy red of the X01's. Ford does not have this color anymore.

What colors do we get to pick from????
Red; Gray; and Blue are all wrong.

The red is so light it really looks orange.
And the gray is so light it looks like it has white in it.
