Just changed all my oils,,engine, trans, hyd, read end...never knew oils could look so worn out! 1956 850 Ford Tractor...I know its been 20 years since the last oil replacements other than the engine..came out in clogs! Probably will lock up soon with all that fresh oil in it! :0)

I bought a 861 about 6 mos. ago, the transmission oil looked like milk, the rear and the hydraulic had an inch of actual mud in the bottom and the oils were brown. I removed the top of the hydraulic to clean out the housing and removed the PTO assembly to clean out the rear. Everything looked perfect once I had it cleaned. The 3pt will hold the scraper blade up over night, I think that is pretty good..... .... I used kerosene and a garden sprayer to clean everything with.

Bottom,

If you got a back case of the chunkies, you might want to also pull the hydraulic pump and manifold and swab out the lines that go thru the transmission too. A buddy bought a 640 this summer and the lines were dern near solid smuck. jb

I just brought an 850 with a loader home yesterday. 600 miles behind my Astro Van. I suppose after that many miles I will have to change the oil in mine also. :^)
