Any idea on how to remove the instrument panel on a Ford 3000? I removed the 4 screws but it doesn't seem to want to budge. Even pried a little with a small screwdriver but didn't want to get too carried away in case something else besides the 4 screws were holding it in. I have a shop manual but it doesn't cover any body parts.

Temprature light and oil preasure gauge aren't working and would like to be able to get in to trouble shoot.

Thanks

Found a little time, the Oil light was a bad bulb, easy fix with a new 1895 bulb. The temp gauge checks good and I have about 700 ohms to ground through the sensor/sender.

Anyone know what a good sender reads on an ohm meter?

It's just stuck. Should come out two or three inches, then the tach cable is the limiting factor.

Managed to pry it out without breaking anything, the gasket was just stuck, looks like it has never been off. 30+ years of dirt built up behind it, what a mess.

Going to clean it up and probably won't get to the real troubleshooting till in the morning.

Thanks for the help, will report what I find.

The 4 screws are all that's holding it on. More than likely the wires have gotten stiff making it seem like it won't move. They don't have a lot of slack. If the tractor has been painted someone may have put it back on with the paint sticky.

There's a good bit of info in the archives on your instrument problem. If it's not a fuse check the wiring from the cluster back. There's a ballast resistor attached to the housing but I think it controls only the fuel guage and possibly the temp guage. Someone with a better memory will have to advise you on that. If your fuel guage works the resistor should be good.

Thanks,

The fuel guage and generator light both work so am thinking it might be a blown bulb on the oil and a sensor or wire broke on the temp. Guess I'll just get a little more agressive with the pry bar.
