Got a tire on my 1956 850 which has a bad tear on the inside...you can see the tube...where do I look for a new tire or possibly a used tire? Thanks..

Ask about new or used tires at a tire dealer (firestone, michelin heavy truck type place probably not your local K-mart ) They are more likely to have used tires if your 850 happens to use a tire size that is common on the front of newer front wheel assist tractors. Another place you can try is a local tractor wrecking place. It may be cheaper and easier for all concerned to have them leave the tire on the rim, and swap the whole thing rather than tring to do an R&R on a used tire.

If it's on the side wall you probably will end up with a new tire. Carried a rear tire off the neighbors MF 135 around in the back of my pickup for a week with a sidewall split trying to find a tire shop that would fix or put a boot in it.

Everyone I talked to refused to even touch it, all said anything they did wouldn'd hold and no body had a used tire. This was in a 30 mile radius of Tulsa OK whear tractors are pretty common. Ended up buying a new tire from a large tire store.

If the tire is pretty good in all other respects, then you can have a good tire shop install a boot in it and get many more years of use out of it. I have had this done several times.

Gemplers sells Tire boots. They have a web site. Used tires are hard to come by.
