My 640 has no spark. Last week started it. Ran fine. Shut it off. Went to restart it 5 minutes later no spark. Changed coil, points and condensor. No spark. Charged six volt battery. No spark. Have power to coil. What next?

I agree with the others.. grab 3 gator clip wires and a piece of sand paper, and a piece of brown paper bag. Now.. jumper battery directly to coil primary.. jumper from the other side of coil primary to distrib feed thru post. now use 3rd jumper to make sure distrib is getting good ground... may have to use that sand paper to bare some metal ont he distrib and on the block to clip it. Next.. drap the brown paper thru the points a few times while holding them closed... check for spark.. if none.. leave cap off and see if rotor turns.. if it does, grab a test lamp, and hook it to power and touch the distrib feed thru bolt.. turn engine over.. lamp should blink if point open and close.. if no lamp at all.. no ground.. if lamp but no blink.. points are shorted.. either cap, or that feedthru gromet...

If none of that helps... got a spare coil to check / swap in??

Make sure the distributor is grounded. On my 901, loosening the distributor just a little causes a gound loss. Check you points to see that they are opening and closing when the engine turns over. Check point gap again.

Your key switch may not be passing enough current. Try bypassing the switch to see if it is the problem.
