I am restoring an old 3000 and have a question about proper paint. The light gray is on fenders, wheels and around trim on dash gauges. What about the center of the rear tires---the inside part that is tied to axle is blue---tractor my have been repainted another time? Is blue the proper color for restoration for that part? I'd appreciate the assistance.

Hi,
My original 1970 3000 gas has blue hubs with gray wheels.

My 1969 Ford 3000 has the optional quick-adjust rear wheels that allow you to change the wheel spacing without removing them from the tractor. These have a blue center hub.

Every factory tractor I ever saw had the same color rims and dishes. My vote is for all grey (grey gloss actually).

For the first time (and I am sure the only time) I am going to disagree with you Bern. I am sitting here looking at a Ford 2000/3000 sales brochure I just bought from Ebay and it shows both the 2/3000 with blue wheels and grey rims. I can not find a date on the thing but I believe it has to be early 70's. I would be happy to scan a picture for you Big JD if you need.
