I jump in got the engine out of the front axle all the attaching wires and lines and pumps. It's setting on end on block with the pistons removed. The tops of the pistons are marked 020 so I guessing it's been rebuilt and bored 20 over. The rod bearings look new I'll pull off a main bearing and look at it but as it is now I think it's gonna get a set of rings and seals and go back together again. The front seal area was terribly oily and diry and with that loose wobbly front crank adapter is where I think all the oil was coming from. I gonna check with FNH for a new adapter but I don't hold much hope. It's a straight spline, no taper to it so it just starts wearing nothin' to hold it. The whole front of the tractor was a oily dirt filled mess. I hate a oil leaking engine, so what I do will be a improvement on what it was. bjr

Was the bolt that keeps this hub in place not tight or missing? Are the splines on the crankshaft good? I have a hub off a 172 gasoline engine that was tight when I removed it. I'm not absolutely sure it will interchange, but think it should.

need crank adapter and pulley in reply to Larry NCKS, 01-29-2006 06:03:08
email with price. I want the pulley also if you have it. Was there a spacer on the crank between the adapter and crank gear? I need that also if there is. I seems like there should be something there, Mine didn't have anything? bjr
