This time last week we were getting slammed with snow here in northern Michigan. I used the tractor to pull out a couple of vehicles stuck in the snow. Afterwards, noticed a clunking sound from rear axle and alt was not getting charged and temp was climbing. Fan belt had come off because bolts holding pulley onto crank worked their way loose. Clunking from rear axle was because lug nuts on rear wheels had also loosened. I have not had a problem with fasteners coming loose till this, but will always check now before using the tractor for serious grunt work.

Wow, that's wierd.

Could be due to the thermal cycling, or just were loose anyway and the workout just made them fall off the rest of the way.

Try some locktite 241 (blue), it will hold things together, yet let you take them apart.
