Guys, thanks for the belt advise. I went to my friendly local Ford New Holland dealer and he put the clips on the belt for me this morning, the whole job took 10 minutes and $10.00 can't complain.

Good luck with your saw. I have one like it. As mentioned below, a piece of a 6''round baler belt makes a good replacement belt if the need arises.Thats what I've used for a while now on mine.

Dave,
Very nice setup although I'll bet that kickback is a factor! I'm assuming the saw is for firewood. If so, where did you find it? Nice looking 801(?) tractor also.

Bruce, I have not heard about any kick back problems with these saws. I got this saw off of E-bay. I had to go to Ohio for it but I felt it was worth it. Tractor is a 641, I also have an 850, 860, and an 8N. Dave

hey dave glad to hear you got here going , you will be pleased with the saw, I cut many cord of wood with one, lot faster than a chainsaw, and easier on your back, ,, as far as kick back I never had a kick back issue, have a good one pat

Pat, you are right on target. My entire reason for buying the saw was because I was tired of bending ocer to cut the firewood. It is so much faster then the chainsaw also, I just have to get used to that monster blade spinning a foot away from me !

Dave, Where's the belt? in reply to Dave H (NY), 03-16-2006 03:04:57
How does the drive system work? It looks to me like it's running off of the PTO. Maybe a photo of the other side would explain it.

It is driven off of a PTO pulley/ belt setup. I actually have an adapter and extension added to the pulley setup to make it work with my 1 3/8 PTO shaft.
