The tractor died as if someone pulled the kill switch. I have changed the filters and fuel flows freely from the tank.

I can loosen up the bleader screw on the pump, turn the engine over and fuel will spray out but no matter what I do I cannot get any fuel to any of the injectors.

Do I need to have the pump rebuilt of is there a internal filter that I have missed?

Thanks for any help.

David, here some possibilites:
- The rotor/dstributor head seized and twisted off the injection pump main shaft (you weren't pressure washing a hot engine were you? It has a shear point cut into it so you don't damage the cam gears if this happens. Take off the fuelinlet assembly and watch the fuel transfer vane pump while you bump the starter. - The fuel inlet screen as clogged. there's a screen and regulating valve assembly on the back of the vane pump. Be sure you keep track of the pieces and reassemble them the same way. - The fuel metering valve has stuck in the fuel shut off position. This is the fuel throttling valve controlled by the governor flyweights. It's opened by the governor spring and closed by force from rotating governor weights. Spring pressure is increased as you open the hand throttle. Rapidly moving the throttle from idle to full a few times might jar it loose. I've loosened a stuck delivery valve by lightly tapping the outside of the inejction pump just below the outer rear corner of the governor linkage cover. If it loosens, use some diesel fuel conditioner in the next few tanks to clean up the fuel system.. Al this refers to the rotary distributor type CAV brand injection pump; a few 3000's were built with inline Simms injection pumps.
