I was very careful but somehow I have stripped the threads on the carb body hole that holds the main jet on my late 60's Ford 3000. Has anyone had this happen and can I fix by re threading with a tap?

8nTN,

What brand is it? I have a 'core' that I have left over that I'd send you for the cost of shipping. Fair enough?

If the threads are stripped I would
think that running the same size tap
will not work. I am wondering if you
could use an epoxy to remake new threads
under constant gas submergence.
It may be time to pick up a new carb at about
$125.
Most farm N owners have a spare MS carb and
you might be able to get one on ebay for
a lot less. Or go to a zeneth carb which
I understand is a much better operating carb.
